Skin Care Gift Basket Presentation

Creating an eye-catching gift basket is essential for making your DIY gift memorable. Here are some tips for effective presentation of your skin care gift basket:

Choose a container that is appropriately sized. For example, if you’re including a face steaming blend you might package all the gifts in a large heat-safe, flat-bottomed bowl. For skin care the gift recipient would use in the bathroom, consider a small wire basket or even clear toiletries bag.

Arrange items thoughtfully. Place taller items at the back or center (if you want to create a 360° presentation) and shorter items at the edges of the container. This ensures all your carefully crafted DIY gifts are visible.

Add decorative touches. Fill the spaces with compostable paper shreds or nestle the products in handcrafted potpourri. Add a few dried or silk flowers, a lavender sachet, a handcrafted candle, or some other special personalized item. Include a handwritten note.

Secure all items. This is especially important if you are mailing your gift basket—a heat shrink bag is your friend!

Okay! Now that we have presentation covered, let’s get to the skin care products! Below each product you’ll find ideas for packaging your DIY gift.

Herbal Blend for Face Steaming

Face Steaming for Natural Skin Care

Every day our faces are bombarded by pollutants in the air. These pollutants damage skin cells and disrupt the skin barrier.

Herbal face steaming open the pores to release impurities and loosen dead skin cells, while delivering supportive benefits to the skin. It improves circulation and brightens the complexion.

Simply choose 3-4 herbs from the list. Your face steaming blend will come together in under 5 minutes!

Skin Care Gift Basket Tip

Fill small kraft paper bags with the herb blend. The window gives the gift-recipient a peek into the beautiful herbal face steaming blend you created for them! And the zipper seal keeps it secure and fresh.

Nourishing Face Serum

Ultimate skin care with a tropical twist

This Tropical Passion face serum is rich in skin-nourishing omega 3 fatty acids that bolster the skin barrier and provide moisture deep into the skin.

Supportive to all skin types, it contains:

  • Passion Fruit Seed Oil
  • Hibiscus Seed Oil
  • Kukui Nut Oil
  • Sunflower Seed Oil

It takes about 5 minutes to make!

Skin Care Gift Basket Tip

Dispense the blend into small serum dropper bottles. My favorites for gift baskets are the 5ml and 10ml sizes. However, you could also choose to use a mini 1 or 2ml dropper!

Droppers bottles are also great for providing tiny amounts of various carrier oils so your recipient can craft their own serum. (Remember to include a larger 1 or 2 oz dropper bottle.)

Soothing Herbal Salt Foot Soak

Herbal Salt Soak and easy DIY gift

Our feet take a beating, literally, every day and we rarely consider them in our skin care regimen. It’s amazing the impact a simple Herbal Foot Soak can have on overall well-being. This one combines

  • Himalayan Salt
  • Jojoba Wax
  • 3 Calming Herbs
  • 3 Soothing Essential Oils

This nourishing foot soak can be whipped up in under 5 minutes.

Skin Care Gift Basket Tip

To show off the beauty of your handcrafted herbal foot soak, package it in clear glass or PET plastic jars. You could include 1 or 2 single-soak 2oz jars or a larger 8oz or even 16oz jar (Remember to include a scoop, too.)

After Bath Natural Skin Care Body Oil

After Bath Body Oils make excellent skin care gifts

With the vast majority of commercial skin care products filled with laboratory-created chemicals, isn’t it nice to know we can turn to the plants for natural skin care? A Body Care Oil is, in my experience, one of the most appreciated DIY gifts.

Just a small amount applied while the skin is still damp locks in hydration and delivers skin-nourishing moisture, shoulders to toes!

Make this After Bath Body Oil in 5 minutes or less!

Skin Care Gift Basket Tip

The best container for an after bath body oil is a pump bottle. This helps minimize spillage and waste and makes dispensing easy.

For a gift basket use 1oz or 2oz sizes in either glass or PET plastic with a treatment pump top. These are my favorites.

Gentle Exfoliating Lip Sugar

Lip Scrub for Kissable Lips on Mom's Blog Shelf

We need to be very careful with the delicate skin on and around our lips. Harsh exfoliants can damage the skin barrier, causing peeling and chapping.

This ultra-gentle, yet effective, Lip Sugar Scrub combines:

  • Stevia leaf powder
  • Soothing herbal powders
  • Skin nourishing oils & butters
  • And a small amount of essential oil (optional)

Use the basic lip sugar recipe to create your own blend, or make the Pink Lady or Cafe Latte lip sugar for your DIY gifts!

You can make several jars of lip sugar scrub in under 15 minutes.

Luxurious Lip Oil

The perfect pairing to a lip sugar is a nourishing, moisturizing, hydrating Lip Oil!

Great for all ages and skin types here are three fun lip oil blends, perfect for a skin care gift basket:

  • Love my Lips
  • Orange Cream
  • Sweet Mint

This lip oil comes together very easily in under 10 minutes.

Lip Care Gift Basket Tip

Include 1 or 2 variations of lip sugar and a tube of lip oil in your skin care gift basket.

Since you need very little product for a lip exfoliating session, I like 15ml glass jars. For lip oils I prefer an applicator tube, but a roller bottle works well, too!

If you like making lip balms, include a tube or slide top of your favorite “flavor,” too! (Aromatics International has a nice Tropical Cocoa lip balm recipe.)

The Gift Basket Pièce de Résistance

Lavender, a book by Christine Pressler

My book Lavender: Lavender Recipes & the Plant Behind the Oil has 125+ recipes using Lavender. And it devotes an entire chapter to skin care, including recipes for:

  • Lavender Aloe Facial Toner
  • Herbal Foot Balm
  • Scalp Care Spray
  • Handcrafted Lavender Glycerite

You can find Lavender at Amazon and my Etsy store.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for your basket filled with DIY gifts! Whatever skin care products you include, I am certain it will be appreciated!
