So, it’s 3.14 and, if you’re on social media at all, I’m sure you’ve seen a gazillion posts of various pies—berry, cream, pizza—all made to celebrate Pi Day.

I’m doing something a little different today. Instead, I am celebrating the actual number 3.14 by sharing 3 essential oils in 1 blend used 4 different ways. 3-1-4!

The 3 Essential Oils in the 3.14 Pi Day Blend

You’ll see in my Shopping List, that each of these essential oils has a heart with it. That’s because these are three of my favorite essential oils, as many of my Scentsational gal-pals will attest!

  • Pink Pepper essential oil is the star of the 314 Blend. It’s fresh and peppery with a touch of fruity sweetness. The aroma is complex and very fun to blend with. (Side note: The Pink Pepper, isn’t actually a pepper at all! It’s in the Cashew family of plants!)
  • Black Pepper essential oil is the energetically warming costar, enhancing the spicy freshness of the 314 Blend. Try adding a drop of Black Pepper to your next blend and see how it enhances the aromatics!
  • Lemon essential oil, with its zesty sweetness, is the supporting aroma that lifts and energizes the pepper essential oils. Lemon is one of my favorites for cleaning—my home and my energetics!

These are all fruit essential oils, yes, even the peppers! Fruit oils are uplifting, energizing, and cleansing. They provide an emotionally nurturing energy that can encourage inspiration and positivity.

As a bonus, the pepper essential oils also contain the seeds! Seed oils inspire a feeling of potential and give us an extra boost when we are feeling energetically stagnant.

The 4 Ways to Use the 3.14 Pi Day Blend

1) 3.14 Diffuser Blend

This amount is perfect for a standard sized diffuser. Together the Pink Pepper, Black Pepper, and Lemon essential oils cleanse and refresh the air. It’s beautiful to diffuse after cooking dinner to deodorize the air or first thing in the morning to encourage positive energy at the start of the day.

2) 3.14 Aromatherapy Inhaler

To inhaler wick add:

  • 2 x 314 Blend

All three of these oils provide gentle uplifting energy. Because the peppers can be a little spicy, I recommend holding the opening of the inhaler away from the nostrils and gently inhaling the passive aromatics of the blend. Repeat as desired to support positivity through the day.

3) 3.14 Belly Rub

Combine

  • 1 x 314 Blend
  • 1 Tablespoon (15ml) Castor oil (Ricinus communis)
  • 1 Tablespoon (15ml) Grapeseed oil (Vitis vinifera)

After you’ve eaten your Pizza Pi and Boston Cream Pi, give this blend a try! Warm a small amount of 314 Belly Rub in the palm of your hand. Apply to belly and massage gently in a clockwise motion for several minutes. Cover with a cloth and relax, allowing the blend to soothe discomfort and reduce tension. If desired, a hot water bottle (I don’t recommend a heating pad) can be used on top of the cloth to provide extra comfort.

4) 3.14 Blend Muscle & Joint Massage Oil

Combine

  • 1 x 314 Blend
  • 2 Tablespoons (30ml) Hemp Seed oil (Cannabis sativa)

Even on its own, Hemp Seed oil makes a lovely massage oil for aches and pains. When combined with the warming Pink Pepper and Black Pepper and the cooling Lemon, it becomes an aromatically soothing muscle and joint massage oil. This is really nice for lower back, shoulders, knees, tired feet, and overworked muscles.
