A Mind Space Energy Cleanse Essential Oil Blend

One of the more esoteric benefits of essential oils is their ability to cleanse energy—negative, stagnant, and blocked. It’s one of my favorite aspects of aromatherapy. This Energy Cleanse essential oil blend combines fruit and leaf essential oils known to dispel stagnant and negative energy. The aroma is sweet and fresh with just a touch of spiciness.

Reusable aromatherapy inhaler by Plant Therapy
Reusable Inhalers from Plant Therapy are available on Amazon.

BONUS INHALER: This blend also makes a great aromatherapy inhaler so you can Energy Cleanse wherever you are. Just add the blend as is to a small bowl, soak it up with the wick, and assemble the inhaler. I like using this blend in a reusable inhaler so I can easily refresh the wick as often as I need.

Because I diffuse this blend often and refresh my inhaler every 4 weeks or so, I like to have a stock bottle of Energy Cleanse on hand.

Get Stock Bottle Drop Counts

Here are the drop counts for a 5ml essential oil bottle. This will hold about 100 drops of essential oil (depending on the viscosity of the oil and the size of the reducer orifice).

Add your drops directly to the essential oil bottle. Then insert the reducer and cap tightly. Finally roll the bottle between the palms of your hands for at least 30 seconds. This allows the oils to fully blend with each other and it imparts a bit of your energy to the blend.

And remember: Affix a label right away!

Energy Cleanse Stock Bottle

  • 30 drops Pink Pepper essential oil (Schinus molle)
  • 20 drops Tulsi/Holy Basil essential oil (Ocimum sanctum / O. tenuiflorum)
  • 10 drops Siberian Fir essential oil (Abies siberica)

Why These Essential Oils?

I love combining the sweet aromas of fruit essential oils with the fresher aroma of leaf oils. In Energy Cleanse the combination of fruit and leaf activates positive energy and clears the head by encouraging deeper breaths.

“Essential oils…have their own vibrations that connect with the frequencies in the human energy field, causing effects in the physical, emotional, and spiritual body.”

~Valerie Ann Worwood, Aromatherapy for the Soul (1999)

Tangerine (Citrus reticulata)

Closely related to Mandarin, Tangerine essential oil shares Mandarin’s ability to ease stress and tension. Tangerine is especially effective for those who are overworked or feel tired all the time. Its sweet, juicy aroma is uplifting and restorative.

Pink Pepper (Schinus molle)

Pink Pepper is complex in aroma and energy

I adore the complexity of the dry, peppery, somewhat sweet floral aroma of Pink Pepper essential oil. It helps dispel negative energy and encourages positive energy and confidence. It’s especially useful for those who need to foster patience with themselves. I find Pink Pepper enhances the energetics of any blend.

Tulsi/Holy Basil (Ocimum sanctum / O. tenuiflorum)

One of my favorite essential oils and herbs, Tulsi is called the “Queen of Herbs.” Distilled from the flowers and the leaves, it is at once breath-opening and calming. Its aroma is complex, sweet, fresh, peppery, and somewhat clove-like. Both the essential oil and the herb provide support for mental exhaustion and enhance resilience to daily stress.

Sweet Basil and Tulsi are great additions to both herbal and essential oil energy cleanse blends
Sweet Basil and Tulsi from my garden, grown from seed from Botanical Interests.

Tulsi not an easy essential oil to source reliably. So, if you can’t find it from a trusted supplier, you can substitute Tulsi with another favorite: Sweet Basil. Sweet Basil is like a soft hug that warms and loosens negative energy, While effective in an energy cleanse blend, the aroma and energetics of Sweet Basil is gentler and not nearly as complex as Tulsi.

Siberian Fir (Abies siberica)

Distilled from the needles, Siberian Fir is a fresh, breath-opening, energy cleansing essential oil. Like other oils rich in the phytochemical (phyto = plant) bornyl acetate, Siberian Fir is calming, energetically balancing, and helps improve mental focus.

What’s your favorite way(s) to cleanse your energy? Does it include aromatics?
