Get Stock Bottle Drop Counts
Here are the drop counts for a 5ml essential oil bottle. This will hold about 100 drops of essential oil (depending on the viscosity of the oil and the size of the reducer orifice).
Add your drops directly to the essential oil bottle. Then insert the reducer and cap tightly. Finally roll the bottle between the palms of your hands for at least 30 seconds. This allows the oils to fully blend with each other and it imparts a bit of your energy to the blend.
And remember: Affix a label right away!

Why These Essential Oils for Our Wintry Days Diffuser Blend?
Sweet Orange (Citrus x sinensis)
Sweet Orange essential oil is cold pressed from the fresh peel, producing a bright fruity aroma. Much like adding a bit of lemon elevates flavor when cooking, citruses elevate the aroma of essential oil blends. Sweet Orange essential oil is over 90% d-limonene, known to have immune-supporting properties.
Energetically, Sweet Orange essential oil helps unblock and circulate stagnant energy. And it’s wonderful for reducing tension and anxiety.
Virginian Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana)
Virginian Cedarwood essential oil is one of several types of Cedarwood, each with different aromas and energetics. The Cedarwood in this diffuser blend is from the species Juniperus, which also gives us Juniper Berry essential oil. Virginian Cedarwood essential oil is distilled from the wood of the Eastern Red Cedar, native to eastern parts of North America.
This stately tree, cherished for its durability (fencing) and aromatics (cedar chests), grows to over 60 feet tall. It’s often the first tree to populate cleared areas. Many Native American cultures would burn cedarwood to dispel evil spirits, especially before a healing ceremony.
Cedarwood essential oil is grounding, anchoring, cleansing, purifying, and confidence supporting. Its light woody aroma is at the same time fresh and earthy.
Black Spruce (Picea mariana)
Black Spruce essential oil is from another coniferous evergreen native to North America, especially throughout Canada and the northern States. It’s not particular about soil quality, germinating and growing even with limited resources in boggy ground or shallow soil over bedrock. This steady slow-growing tree rarely ever reaches maturity in its natural habitat due to cyclic fires that decimate Black Spruce forests. The highly adaptable Black Spruce rapidly seeds after a fire and eventually becomes the dominant species in a burn area.
Steam distilled from the firm spiky needles, Black Spruce essential oil, like the tree itself, adapts to your needs. It’s balancing and energizing, grounding and uplifting. Its aroma is fresh and green, providing a warm, breath-opening energy to any diffuser blend.
💚Side Note: The tender new growth tips of Black Spruce can be harvested for a citrusy, nutritive, respiratory supporting spruce tea. When wildharvesting, select only the tips that are in the interior or shaded parts of the tree, leaving the tips receiving light to mature.
Frankincense (Boswellia carteri)
Frankincense has a very long history of medicinal and religious use, dating back thousands of years. It’s also one of the historically longest commercially-traded products worldwide.
A recent surge in scientific research into the healing properties of Frankincense resin has lead to an increase in demand to produce both medicinal and aromatherapeutic products. This has, unfortunately, led to unsustainable harvesting methods.
Frankincense resin (also called “tears”) is harvested after it dries over a wound in the bark of the tree. The hardened resin is ground to a fine powder and used in traditional incense making. The essential oil is extracted from the Frankincense resin using steam distillation.
As the resin is healing to the tree, Frankincense is also therapeutic and healing when used in aromatherapy and skin care.
Infusing the ground resin into oil creates a beautifully aromatic, soothing product for skin and lips.
Breathing in the aroma of Frankincense essential oil, like breathing in the smoke from Frankincense resin incense, promotes emotional balance, tranquility, and inner strength. Its fresh, resinous, coniferous aroma combines nicely in a diffuser blend of citrus and conifer essential oils.
💚Always purchase Frankincense essential oil or resin tears from a company who sources their Frankincense from suppliers using sustainable and ethical practices.
Cinnamon Leaf (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
Cedarwood, Black Spruce, Sweet Orange, and Frankincense essential oils together produce a lovely fatigue-reducing diffuser blend. Cinnamon Leaf is the extra touch that makes this blend special.
Cinnamon Leaf essential oil is warm, sweet, and spicy. Just a touch enhances the energy-stimulating nature of this blend. Steam distilled from fresh leaves, Cinnamon Leaf essential oil is rich in immune-supporting, germ combating phytochemicals. This makes it a perfect addition to an essential oil diffuser blend for cold and flu season!
If you don’t have Cinnamon Leaf, a drop of Cinnamon Bark essential oil can be substituted.
Diffusing Wintry Days encourages a relaxed centered energy, a positive outlook, and an inner strength that will take you through the chilly days and nights of Winter.
